About Us

With the pending November 2008 Presidential elections, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, we believe the USA is in need of men who will pray for the country. As a result, and in support of our country and its soldiers, men of GreeneWay Church Orlando (some of whom are military veterans) will travel, on motorcycle, to the 4 corners of the USA during a 25-day trip in May-June 2008. During their travels, the men will pray for the country and, at each corner of the USA, they will hold a brief prayer and a prayer vigil.

08June09: Day 28 - The last leg…completion!

Well, today was our last leg of this most wonderful journey to the 4 corners of the Lower 48 States - though it was the shortest section, it was probably was the most rewarding as we rode through the gathered crowd at Greeneway Church - our home church.  What a journey it has been.  We spent the entire service time telling the audience of our experiences.  If you want a copy of the audio CD of our stories, simply send a check for $10 to Greeneway Church 3400 Hunter’s Creek Blvd.  Orlando, FL  32837 and my staff will get it out to you.  There are many neat things we talked about that were not blogged about here on the site.  On another note, I am not sure where to take this website.  Perhaps, I will make it a historical document on the web - forever documenting our historic accomplishment.  Or, perhaps, this can become somesort of ministry encouraging others to pray around whatever 4 corners they can - their home, office, town, etc.  I am not sure what to do.  If you have any ideas, please let me know.  Also, I would like to ask that each of you consider financially supporting our television ministry called Influence Living to which all proceeds from this trip went.  The program simply uses the testimonies of Christians to lead others to Christ.  You may support the ministry by going to www.influenceliving.com.  Finally, I do want to say this before I sign off – the men that travelled with me over the nearly 11,000 miles gave up so much to support me in this rather crazy idea of actually wrapping our country in prayer.  They gave up family time, paid their own way, wore out their motorcycles, lost business deals, endured pain, lost sleep and dealt with other hardships to accomplish this task.  While I believe it stretched each of them and will forever change their lives, I must say a heartfelt thank you to these men and their families.  Thank you.  Never has a pastor ever felt so loved by those he serves.  Were I still in the Army, I would gladly serve side-by-side with these men in combat for they are true warriors.  May God Bless the United State of America.  And, for the last time, goodnight.  wade.

6 & 7 June08: Days 26 & 27 - in a “holding pattern”

We are taking these two days to rest and recover prior to our final push into GreeneWay Church during Sunday’s 11:00 a.m. service for our return celebration.  If you are in the area, please stop by - we are located at 3400 Hunter’s Creek Blvd.  Orlando, FL  32837.  Sunday night, I plan to submit pics of our return celebration and give some final thoughts.  wade.

5June08: Day 25 - toward Florida

Today, we pushed south toward home…continuing to pray the entire way.  All was going well, until “gadget’s” tire began to shred - at 70 miles an hour that could have been disasterous, but thankfully to God, we caught it.  After several hours, we were able to get the tire replaced and continued south…traveling through the night and making it to Orlando in the wee hours of the morning on the 6th (970 miles total - our longest push yet).  Below, you will find a picture of the tire.  Until Sunday, we are in a holding pattern for our entry into GreeneWay Church during the 11:00 a.m. service.  If you live in the area, please come by and celebrate our successful trip and all that God has done for us.  Each of the riders will share their experiences in the service.  Until Sunday.  wade.

04June08: Day 24 - at the Capitol

Hey Everyone, sorry for my lack of updates here…technology problems.  Today, we pushed from NYC to DC.  It was an absolutely wonderful day - weather wise.  Met up with a fellow by the name of Earl who commented on yesterday’s blog - you need to see his comment to see all that he is up to helping veterans and so forth.  Today, I even met a Maryland State Trooper who was kind enough to introduce himself to me…that’s another story.  Anyway, we got to the Mall area in DC and made our way to the Capitol on the way there a lady by the name of Lyn approached us.  She is walking across the USA from Key West to Washington State.  She and her grandchildren were praying on the Mall.  We prayed with her.  So, there you go, you think you are doing something significant, and there is someone doing something even greater!  Our prayers are with you Lyn -  you can ck out her website at www.greatamericajourney.com.  Then, we knelt and prayed on the steps of the US Capitol!  Awesome experience.  We returned to our motorcycles and the strangest thing happened.  Out of no where a storm blew in just as we were taking off our bike covers - the storm came complete with 58 mph winds - enough to take “Bear’s” helment a block down the street!  DC residents said they had never seen anything like it…mmmmm interesting.  We took shelter and made our way a few miles south for the night.  Enough for now.  wade.

03June08: Day 23 - Ground Zero NYC

Thanks to everyone that is keeping up with this blog.  We have had comments from as far away as Australia!  Today was a special day as we were able to fight through New York City and make it to Ground Zero.  For myself, and some of the others, this was our first time in NYC.   Zipping through the traffic we were able to catch glimpses of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, Wall Street and the Empire State Building, but of course, missing were the Twin Towers.  It was rather shocking to see where the once mighty structures stood.  We all remember that day and we must not forget it.  Near Ground Zero, there is a simple memorial.  Together, we took our knees in front of everyone and prayed for NYC and the nation…perhaps, you will take a knee where you are at right at this moment and pray with us… “God in heaven, see this great land and may your favor be with her and your strong Spirit rest on her one more time.  We ask that you turn the hearts of men and women in this great country toward you.   Protect her from the plans of the evil one and may the USA once again please you and reside within your plan.  God, we ask that you bless America – her people, her leadership, her military and your faithful of this great land.  We pray this in the name of Jesus, the strong Son of God.”  We hope to pray in D.C. tomorrow and start for Florida (home) after lunch or so.  We think we may make it home Thursday night!  Can’t wait.  Well, check out our pics from the day.  Good night.  Wade.below:  ”bear” prepares for the day’s run dscn4815.jpgbelow:  ”skipper” poses for the camera beneath two layers of eye protectiondscn4816.jpgbelow:  leavin’ Mainedscn4847.jpgbelow:  you’re looking at $80,000 worth of iron and other non-biodegradable materialsdscn4864.jpgbelow:  they nap just like they park their bikes.dscn4867.jpgbelow: dueling it out with NYC trafficdscn4870.jpgbelow:  going no where in NYC trafficdscn4871.jpgbelow:  ridin’ in NYCdscn4877.jpgbelow:  looks like a movie set doesn’t it?  it’s the real thingdscn4880.jpgbelow:  we took an unplanned trip through chinatowndscn4890.jpgbelow:  street signs were meant for other people  dscn4892.jpgbelow: items left at Ground Zero memorial sitedscn4898.jpgbelow:  ”gadget quietly contemplatesdscn4900.jpg below:  what we came to do dscn4904.jpgdscn4906.jpgbelow:  the actual sitedscn4909.jpgbelow:  the site is right behind us… “sharkbait” is guarding the bikes since he had seen the site beforedscn4910.jpgdscn4916.jpg

02June08: Day 22 - At the fourth and final corner!!

dscn4785.jpgWe began the day about 100 miles south of Madawaska (our fourth corner) and stopped on the way to have “Bear’s” Harley repaired.  Bike repaired, we continued to the fourth corner.  In Madawaska, there is a four-corners park and that is where we prayed, had Holy Communion and took photos.  The prayer was special as we spent several moments in silence - it was as though the Holy Spirit was calling us to pause and experience His rest for a moment.  Once again, we prayed for our great country and its leadership; however, our mission is not yet complete for we have yet to fully circle the USA in prayer - that will be accomplished when we pull into the parking lot of Greeneway Church in Orlando, FL where we began the trip some 22 days ago.  As far as I know, no one has ever so.  On our way home, we will pray on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in D.C.  I will continue to keep you posted.  Today, we had another rider join up with us, Dennis (Sasquach) drove up from Orlando and caught up with us here in lower Maine. His energy has revitalized us and we look forward to spending the next few days with him.  Also, Ron met a missions team returning from their summer missions trip in New York - they were kind enough to donate financially to our cause - thank you Pastors Ken & Bonnie Gilliard, Pastor Mike & Lynne Freeman and the others!  If you have time, take a few moments and view pics from today.  One of the highlights today was the fact that we saw several wild moose!  Goodnight.   wade. below:  i told you “Gadget” has to go over the scales…1220 lbs! dscn4731.jpgbelow:  blury shot of moose dscn4756.jpg dscn4771.jpgbelow:  ”Gadget” thinks of his wife, Sharon, and just has to have a “running through the flowers” moment. dscn4776.jpgbelow:  praying at corner number four (Madawaska) dscn4786.jpgdscn4789.jpg below:  ”bear” poses at the four corners park dscn4800.jpgbelow:  something we do often…eatdscn4804.jpgbelow:  Ron with the missions team we met todaydscn4813.jpg below:  self dscn4794.jpg

01June08: Day 21 - Almost to the fourth corner!

Today began fabulously and then the bottom dropped out…  We did have a great beginning to the day - you will see from the pics that it was sunny and clear and we enjoyed the good weather until just north of the Maine State line, but then, buckets of rain and the cold found us.  In addition, “Bear’s” Harley snapped a gear shifter mechanism.  You will see by the photos that zip-ties came to the rescue.  In addition, “Bear” and “Gadget” witnessed a car go into a ditch as we were driving past a rest area.  ”Bear” investigated.  Fortunately, no one was in the car.  Someone had left their car running while they stepped in to the toilet facilities and the car slipped out of park and down the hill into the ditch.  Despite everything, we did continue for our country as we drove.  Tonight, we have landed in Houlton, Maine about 100 miles south of our fourth point, Madawaska, where we will once again pray for our country.  Then, we will begin our journey south toward our final stop - the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.  Below, you will find a few pics from the day.  Good night.  wade.below:  our morning ritual consists of setting everything up on our bikes… dscn4677.jpgdscn4680.jpgdscn4682.jpgbelow:  on the road in Mass.dscn4685.jpgbelow:  the outskirts of Bostondscn4687.jpgbelow:  ”Gadgets” load has grown so much he now has to pull into truck weigh stationsdscn4689.jpgbelow:  one of a couple bridges we crossed todaydscn4694.jpgbelow:  since its just us guys, we have not had to visit a store like this in 21 days!dscn4709.jpgbelow:  just thought this was an interesting picturedscn4715.jpgbelow:  one of many stops todaydscn4718.jpgbelow:  breakdown in the raindscn4720.jpgdscn4721.jpgdscn4722.jpgbelow:  at the end of the day, we unload for nightdscn4729.jpg

31MAY08: Day 20 - heading for Maine

Today began a bit slow as we had to wait for a Honda dealership to open near our hotel for Mike’s Honda Goldwing - the speedometer cable had snapped.  The extra sleep felt great - think we all got 7 or 8 hours of sleep.  The folks at Hamburg Honda went above and beyond the call of duty to assist Mike.  Our special thanks goes out to Bob and Les for their creative solution to fix Mike’s bike.  Below, you will see a picture we took with them at Hamburg Honda.  We were able to hit the road around noon.  As we left the Buffalo area, we felt to pray particularly for the people of the city so we did.  Despite the thunderstorms and hail to the south and west of us, we had clear skies up until the last 75 miles or so.  We ended up with 350 miles for the 1/2 day of travel.  We are spending the night in Springfield, Mass.  Our hope is to make it to Madawaska, Maine (the fourth corner) by the end of the day tomorrow.  Thanks again for all your prayer and support.  Though we are doing the traveling, you can do the praying.  Pray for our great country.  Pray that once again God leans toward us and graces us with His presence.  Pray that the hearts of men, women, boys and girls turn to God through His Son Jesus Christ.  Enough for now.  Here are a few pics from the day.  Goodnight.  Wade.  below:  ”Gadget” dons high-tech rain gear. dscn4610.jpgbelow:  at Hamburg Honda with Bob and Les dscn4613.jpgbelow:  at one of many fuel stops dscn4623.jpgbelow:  interesting perspective dscn4620.jpgbelow:  we’re all hooked on dill pickle sunflower seedsdscn4612.jpgbelow:  ”skipper” sporting his rain bootsdscn4624.jpgbelow:  ”sharkbait” getting it donedscn4625.jpgbelow:  over-the-shoulder shotdscn4633.jpgbelow:  Sharon, make more room in the garage.  as you can see by the load, “gadget” has picked up a few extra thingsdscn4644.jpgbelow:  another stopdscn4646.jpgbelow:  ”let’s see, where did i put those keys”dscn4647.jpgbelow:  the open roaddscn4652.jpgbelow:  a road side huddledscn4654.jpgbelow:  travelin’dscn4656.jpgbelow:  through one of many toll stopsdscn4664.jpgbelow:  Mass. welcomes usdscn4666.jpgbelow:  in Mass. - getting darkdscn4669.jpgbelow:  ”skipper” makes a couple adjustmentsdscn4674.jpgbelow:  ”if only our wives where here to tell us what road to take…”dscn4676.jpg below:  cleaning my windshield and thinking how pretty my wife is… wade4.jpg

30MAY08: Day 19 - made it to Buffalo

Well, thank God, we had another good day to travel.  No rain despite all the thunderstorms and tornadoes going on south of us.  Today, we were in four States; Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and now in New York.  We ended up the day just south of Buffalo eating at one of “Gadgets” favorite spots.  As we went through Cleveland, we spent a bit of extra time in prayer for the struggling city.  While in Indiana and with nothing but farm houses, we had an opportunity to compile some statistics from our journey.  I consulted “Skipper” who is our “road kill” statistician.  He informed me that we have seen 687 road kills since Wisconsin.  You may not know it, but “Skipper” has a bit of an interest in old barns and farm houses.  Often, as we passed, he mused aloud (using the CB) about several structures - he would say things like; “I wonder why some farms have two barns.”  ”How did they build them without professional builders?”  ”I wonder what year that barn was built.”  We have about 946 miles to go before we get to Madawaska, Maine.  Tomorrow, we hope to make it half way and then the remaining miles on Sunday.  So, Lord willing, we will be at our fourth and final point on Sunday.  After the fourth point, we will head to pray on the steps on the US Capitol in D.C.  Well, here are a couple pics from today.  God Bless and goodnight.  wade. below:  ”dear our wives, this is proof we are where we say we are…”dscn4509.jpgbelow:  ”Gadget” and “Skipper” on the road in Illinois before entering Indianadscn4516.jpg below:  ”you just point the taser gun like this…” dscn4523.jpgbelow:  ”bear” getting it done.dscn4533.jpgbelow:  the countryside of Indianadscn4558.jpgbelow: self.dscn4559.jpg  below:  one of the many farms along the way that caught “skippers” attentiondscn4570.jpgbelow:  and anotherdscn4571.jpgbelow:  and anotherdscn4577.jpgbelow:  interesting perspective of “sharkbait”dscn4605.jpgbelow:  praying in Clevelanddscn4603.jpg
