Motorcyclists from Greeneway Church will begin a 25-day 4-Corners motorcycle trip which completely encircles the lower 48-States. The sole purpose of this trip is to pray for our nation. It will begin on May 12th, 2008 and end mid-June.
With the pending November 2008 Presidential elections and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the bikers will pray for the country and its military. During their travels, they will pray for the country at every mile-marker, at each corner of the USA, and on the steps of the US Capitol. This is a strictly non-partisan and non-denominational endeavor.
“From time-to-time, a person is given the opportunity to do something truly significant, and I believe this is one of those times,” said Dr. Wade Mumm, Sr. Pastor and event coordinator.
Members of Greeneway Church believe that they can have a national impact through such an event. “Though other motorcyclists have traveled this route, no one, I know of, has ever done this trip for the singular purpose of praying for our great country. In fact, it is quite possibly the longest (distance-wise) prayer event ever. Though the USA has gone through great trouble of recent years, I believe America’s best years are still ahead of her and prayer for her is vital,” said Mumm.
The approximately 11,000-mile route takes the riders to the 4 Corners of the USA. The trip originates in Orlando, FL, travels south to Key West, west to San Ysidro, CA, north to Blaine, WA, east to Madawska, ME, south through Washington D.C. and finally, returning to Orlando. At each corner of the USA, and on the steps of the US Capitol, special prayer vigils will be held. The public is encouraged and invited to attend.
